DONALD HENDRICKS
studied at The Art Students League in New York. He has illustrated over
40 books, including a children's book, Brave Donatella and the Jasmine
Thief, which will be released in 2010. His drawings have appeared
in many magazines; his work has been published in the United States, Europe,
South America, Australia and Japan, and is collected by the costume departments
of Universities and other fashion institutions. His drawings, paintings
and collages have been exhibited in a number of galleries and in the Gilardi
Museum in Italy, the Craft & Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles, and at the
Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.
He is a past member of The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles, The
Graphic Artists Guild and of the Society of Childrens Book Writers and
Illustrators.
Paper dolls are my most personal work and are a lighthearted
tribute to my own career and to the work of those I most admired.
